No, I don't want to see ugly cars :))

    war das dein VW-Bus ?

nein, von meinem hab kein so schönes Foto, war aber ein ähnliches Modell, von 1966, ohne Schiebedach, Dachgepäckträger und die kleinen Fenster darunter...

My van is an LDV Convoy known as LuDVig. It was named by its previous German owner and his English friend.

After a real 2 year low in my life I found work in 1997 but had no money to move or pay rent. A friend lent me his old (not a splitty though) VW bus. I lived in it around Dorset for 4 months and had some great times.
There were some great pubs that let me stay in their car parks, Hail Bop was in the sky and hanging over an ancient tumulus when I parked up at Maiden Castle, and loads of interesting people.
It was a sad day when I had to give it back and move into a flat in Dorchester

I understand that very well, during my time at the markets I also had a VW van for the first two years and then a Daimler 408 for 10 years and spent many a night in it, it was a nice time, even if it was sometimes extremely cold at the Christmas markets in winter, I remember one morning when icicles were hanging from the ceiling... I hadn't insulated it yet...

Yes, the best car I'd ever have but at the end it needed new leaf springs the TÜV said and that was too expensive, so I'm sold it... best price I'd ever get for an old car... I'm told it was going to Saudi Arabia, maybe it's still on the road there today :)

    I hope so @Harry Göhde.
I don't think anyone would pay much for my van but I am fond - it came with the name LuDVig from the previous German owner

All the other cars I had were older and I usually had to pay to pick them up if I couldn't take them to the scrapyard myself...
Ludwig was my father's name :)

My dad wouldn't have deserved your van named after him. Never saw him after age 8.
Glad my LDV works out to share a name with yours who deserved a smile emoji:)
