Tri, I do not recommend you trying Austrian "cheese" as it is nearly no cheese - quel horreur :D (they all taste like chewing gum)

Jakob, brunost iz me fave. I once even called the Norwegian embassy in Vienna, and dat very nice Norwegian lady was so happy dat an Austrian is interested in geitost... she gave me the phone number of a cheese dealer on Naschmarkt/Nibble Market, I ordered one pound, incl. shippin' it was €49,50, so I ate it like I was eating gold... a too high-price for me now... thx for da hint :)

I have found brunost here in the states, but I have never heard about geitost. I should keep an eye on it. At least I can find Puerto Rican white cheese.

I like brie, my wife not so much though.
