I agree there should be a safe place for Jewish people, and while the "defense" argument was crucial at Israel's inception, it doesn't really justify current colonies nor occupation in Palestine.

And as far as I know, the BDS movement is mainly active in the US because of the close political and economical ties between USA and Israel.

And I believe it's possible to simultaneously hold political beliefs about many countries at once, each distinct from each other, without having anything to do with any religion.
