An, when one uses the Ignore button, it would really help if the one being ignored could no longer communicate with the person ignoring them.

Why add the user’s (real) name?

Because you maybe don't recognize the username when reading the invite, so it is to make it easier to see who invited you.

An, when one uses the Ignore button, it would really help if the one being ignored could no longer communicate with the person ignoring them.

That's already the case, when you ignore somebody, the person can't comment on your posts anymore.

Many thanks for this upgrade :)

I have an idea for next releases (I don't know if someone had it before and I'm not really used to Github stuff)

One of the main issue I have with Diaspora* is that I see many posts in my "newsfeed" written in a language I don't know.

I like to see posts from people from all over the world, but I really can't read Japanese, for example. For today, the solution I've chosen is to ignore people who post in a language I can't read, but this isn't cool as sometimes those guys can also write in English, which I can read.

So I've used paint to show how it could be handled, both in settings and before posting a new topic :

In settings we could define languages we can read and the ones we are likely to write :

If we've defined that we can write in several languages, we could have a mandatory choice, to specify which language(s) we've used to write this new post...

I reckon this will be more and more useful as more people from all over the world will use Diaspora

for now i don't see any issue if you don't follow the streams in the languages you don't know. why would you do that?

that's a choice the writer does.

for instance i forked my stream in to two different ones, to not write in english and armenian in separate streams.

Some people express themselves with different languages in Diaspora. Some you know, some you don't.
Furthermore, some #hashtags are common in several languages.
A mean of filtering the languages would be cool.

I'm sorry, I wasn't clear. By "logs", I mean the log/production.log file inside the server which is recording what's going on. If there is a bug, this file will contain the information we need to solve it. So I need to talk to your podmin (server admin) so he can provide me the log file. Once I understood the problem, I will correct it, and then the next release of diaspora* will have the fix.

@NaturalNews Diaspora is the podmin. the pod is running 0.6.7.0. and i just tested it with my account there, everything works exactly as it should. i have no idea what @Whistleblowers AreHeros's problem is, maybe they just confused 'ignore' and 'hide post' or something.

@poiiip Because editing posts in a decentralised network is quite difficult, especially if you want to make sure that the edits are retraceable. There are plans to implement that feature, though. If you like it to be implemented sooner rather than later, feel free to create an issue (or find an existing one) on the GitHub issue tracker and post a bounty on it.

If you like it to be implemented sooner rather than later, feel free to create an issue (or find an existing one) on the GitHub issue tracker and post a bounty on it.

Here's the existing Github issue for editing posts – no need to create a new one. There's already a bounty on it, to which you can contribute – click the link in the first post.

Please don't post on that issue just to say something like 'I really want this!' – only if you have technical proposals to make, or wish to contribute towards solving the issue. Thanks!

even twitter is not able to implement post editings. because of technical reasons. and deleting is slow for them.

and diaspora is so much better even without editing posts.
