As Michael Vogel says there has been plenty of studies that shows that biking to and from job gives an enormous boost to your health - everybody that lives within 10 km of their workplace should bike. In many cities (like Paris for example) the pollution is so dense though that the health benefits are reversed.

The study says that it is even a huge benefit if you live 3 km away from work, which makes just half an hour cycling per day.

Yes, 6-7 kilometres equals 30 minutes so that is enough to reach the minimum, but I know people who all year around go 20 km to and from work and it is not a terrible bother in Copenhagen where all the suburbs have brilliant bicycle infrastructure. I just think the suburbers should get on the bike and stop polluting the city :)

Yeah, I can only agree with you. And regarding Paris: if all people in Paris would use a bike/train rather then the car, it would be way more healthier for them, the pollution would end immediately, they would get faster to where they want and the city would get lots of free space they could use for something different than cars.
