    I like the colors and the composition conjures interconnect . not sure about the whole left side as wind is pulling the media out an open window . ? interesting . I've yet to receive comment on anything i've posted so thought to be the change i want see so to speak . stone artist dot com

    Thanks for commenting, Joseph. It does sometimes feel as though we're working in a bit of a vacuum, so it's gratifying to get meaningful feedback.

    In a sense this piece was conceived as a landscape with architecture, but since I'm working on a small scale I have to try to find ways to suggest expanse and space graphically. I needed to indicate the gravity and size of the ruined structures, but also the sweep of a vast empty space around them -- not easy to do in a 40 x 50 cm area. The string/wire line suggests horizons, but also disruption, unresolved tensions. The colors are simply the colors of windy emptiness, with the hint of sky showing through the intact windowframe providing a sense of what the place might have been in its better days.
