There are tons of way to #contribute to the diaspora* project and help us. We especially need people who love to communicate and to promote. We are developers, and to be the most efficient, we want to focus on the code. That’s why, you have only a few news on what’s going on. We miss a bridge between developers and users, we miss people who would tell what’s coming, why this is not possible, how to do that, answer to feedback… We currently try to do it as much as we can, but we lose time to work on the code when we spend it on communication. So, if you speak a good english and want to follow closely what’s going on in the project, you could help us! @goob is the perfect example of someone who is helping a lot the diaspora project to go forward without being involved as a developer nor a podmin. We need more people like him!

Follow @Commits to Diaspora and explain what that means to users, write bugmash monday (which must not be always every monday), help us write blog posts and release notes…

You can also maintain a community blog like diasporial was a long time ago, spread the words on other social network, answer on press articles, or if communication is not your best skill, be a moderator on loomio (we will need some pretty soon) and diasporaforum!

Or maybe you speak #french, #spanish, #german, #italian or another language, so you could keep your community up-to-date by setting up an account in your language which will translate everything from @Diaspora HQ?

I’m sure you want to see the diaspora* code improved as soon as possible. And you say to yourself, it is free software, but I can’t help because I don’t know how to code. That is untrue. Every time you do something for diaspora*, it will help the project to grow quicker.

If you’re interested, come talk to us on #diaspora on irc.freenode.net

Bugmash Mondays - bug suggestions

As we're trying to get Bugmash Mondays up and running again, it would be excellent to have a place where developers can suggest bugs suitable for inclusion each week. This seems as good a place as any. Ideally, we'll give eight bugs to the community each week (that was the stated goal when Bugmash Mondays were started) - some quick fixes and some suitable for newcomers, others can be a bit more complex. If we can't find eight suitable, I'll post whatever we have. I'll bump this thread each Saturday, and then if bugs can be suggested here over Saturday and Sunday, I'll post from the Diaspora HQ account on the Monday. Hope this isn't an inappropriate place for this thread - it seems the best place.
